Bayern: Glücksspielstaatsvertrag verfassungswidrig

Ein weiteres deutsches Gericht hat den aktuellen Glücksspielstaatsvertrag (GlüStV) kritisiert. So hat der Bayerische Verfassungsgerichtshof zwei wichtige Komponenten als verfassungswidrig verworfen.
Einmal mehr gerät der Glücksspielstaatsvertrag ins Kreuzfeuer der Kritik. Dieses Mal ist es der Bayerische Verfassungsgerichtshof, der das bundesweite Gesetz zum Online Glücksspiel bemängelt. Grundlage für das Urteil sind drei Popularklagen, die von einem Anbieter eingereicht wurden.
Zum einen sind die Werberichtlinien, die öffentliches Glücksspiel in ganz Deutschland regulieren sollen, nicht konform mit der bayrischen Verfassung. Viel spannender ist jedoch das Problem mit den beschränkten Lizenzen.

Brenes, Filatov and Carrel Triumph in 2015 Spirit of Poker Voting

After three months of fan voting and a long, heated debate by the PokerListings panel the winners of the 2015 Spirit of Poker Awards have been determined.

Der 1. FC Kaiserslautern hatte eigentlich vor, die "Bild"-Aktion "Wir helfen" am Wochenende mit dem speziellen Trikotärmel-Aufdruck zu unterstützen. Nun hat er sich jedoch dagegen entschieden - es ist bereits der sechste Profiklub, der seine Teilnahme verweigert.

 "Aufgrund der aktuellen Entwicklungen mussten die Verantwortlichen des FCK feststellen, dass es in dieser Sache inzwischen leider nicht mehr um das Thema Hilfe für Flüchtlinge geht, sondern nur noch um die Haltung der Vereine zu einzelnen Medien", erklärten die "Roten Teufel" auf ihrer Website.

Flüchtlingshilfe: Weitere Fußballvereine sagen Nein zur "Bild"-Aktion

Drei weitere Zweitligaklubs verweigern sich der Flüchtlingsaktion der "Bild"-Zeitung. Der 1. FC Nürnberg, VfL Bochum und der SC Freiburg schließen sich dem Protest des FC St. Pauli an - aus Solidarität.

Der FC St. Pauli, Union Berlin und nun drei weitere Fußballvereine - auch der SC Freiburg, der 1. FC Nürnberg und der VfL Bochum werden nicht an der Flüchtlingsaktion der "Bild"-Zeitung teilnehmen. Das gaben die Fußballklubs auf ihren Vereinsseiten bekannt. Die drei Zweitligisten begrüßten zwar das Engagement, wollen aber dennoch mit ihren regulären Trikots auflaufen und auf das Logo "Wir helfen" der "Bild"-Zeitung und des Ligasponsors "Hermes" verzichten.
 
Der 1. FC Nürnberg benannte den Grund für die Weigerung: Der Klub hält den Umgang mit den Vereinen, die an der freiwilligen Aktion nicht teilnehmen wollen, für "unangebracht". "Bild"-Chefredakteur Kai Diekmann hatte St. Pauli bei Twitter unterstellt, "kein Herz für Flüchtlinge" zu haben.

Macau is getting rocked by reports of a $258 million casino heist

Some more bad news for Macau's high rollers — or what is left of them.

On Thursday, the Hong Kong-based investment bank Daiwa Capital Markets published a report saying that as much as $258 million had been stolen from a junket operating inside Wynn Macau.

In Macau, junkets operate as third parties within casinos, bringing in cash that high rollers — the VIPs who bet big at the casino — use to leverage their bets.

It is suspected that employees of Dore Holdings, the junket working inside the casino, made off with the cash.

For its part, Wynn told Bloomberg its casino didn't lose any money, but the company's stock has still fallen 9% on the news.

The reason for the drop is that the heist has the potential to do serious damage to the high-roller market in Macau, which makes up a chunky 50% of gambling revenue on the island.
